CapFinch publishes practical guides on private markets: how startups raise money, how investors find deals, how to research companies that don't publish accounts, and how sales teams can use all of that to find buyers.
Why this site exists
Most information about private companies sits behind expensive subscriptions. The big data platforms are excellent, but a seat can cost more than a seed-stage startup spends on software in a year. A lot of what founders, small funds and sales teams need is available for free if you know where to look and how to read it. These guides show you how.
When you don't have the time to do the digging yourself, we offer custom research: investor target lists, acquisition target lists, lists of recently funded companies, and one-off reports on private businesses.
How we write
- Plain English. If a term needs explaining, we explain it.
- Worked examples. Numbers in examples are illustrative and labelled as such. We don't invent market statistics.
- Primary sources first. Where a rule or filing is involved, we point you to the regulator or official source so you can check it yourself.
- Kept current. Each guide shows when it was last updated. If you spot something out of date, tell us.
Who's behind it
Rajat Gupta. Rajat writes about private markets, startup financing and B2B prospecting, with a focus on what founders, dealmakers and sales teams can actually do with the data that's available to them.
